Detour of the Week: Monty the T-Rex/Nature's Art

Please meet Monty, the 31 foot Tyrannosaurus Rex who watches over Nature's Art of Connecticut. Nature's Art is part mineral/crystal/fossil gallery, part kids swimming pool, part gift shop, and part roadside cafe. Monty, whose eyes glow red in the dark, has been watching over it all since 2000. Since then, Monty has been joined by 25 other dinosaurs, who populate the pool area, and in August of 2005, Monty became the proud father of Chester, a robotic baby T-Rex, whom you can meet in the fossil gallery. Not that Monty doesn't look great all the time, but if you are lucky enough to visit him around a holiday, he'll be decked out in his seasonable best. More Roadside Attractions
