It’s hard to appreciate how ocean-like Lake Superior is until you see it, and a great place to do that is on this 100-mile portion of Route 13. At the western end of the drive you’ll find the crashing waters of Amnicon Falls State Park, but the highlight is farther east in Bayfield, the gateway town to Apostle Islands National Lakeshore and its nine historic lighthouses.
