Route 66 Books
A number of books have been written about Route 66 over the years.
A new book, reviewed in the Wall Street Journal recently (17 June 2006), was Route 66 : Iconography of the American Highway(link to Amazon.com) by Arthur Krim. The essence of the review was summed up by this line, "Since Mr. Krim delves into the historical at the expense of the breezy, some casual readers may find the amount of detail daunting, but others will be grateful for it."
