It's in an older part of town that is on the decline. It began as a grocery store and transitioned to a restaurant as the food began to gather more and more attention. (they were serving friends in the back) The atmosphere is relaxed. Very relaxed. The people of the south generally aren't pretentious and this place is no exception. It is what it is and it's great. The place is frequented by famous and interesting people all the time. I see diplomats and writers in there regularly and Hollywood stars stop by when they are in the area as well.
